Robert A. Quartermain, BSc (Hons), MSc, P.Geo, DSc, Executive Chairman

Robert A. Quartermain has extensive global experience in geology, exploration and development. Over his 40-year career in the resource industry, he has established a solid track record in building shareholder value in the field of precious metals exploration and development. Dr. Quartermain was the president of Silver Standard Resource Inc. from 1985 to 2010, over which time the company grew from a small exploration company with a market capitalization of over $2 million, to a company with a producing mine, five advanced development properties, a pipeline of early stage exploration properties and a market capitalization of over $2.0 billion. Dr. Quartermain is currently the Executive Chairman of Pretium Resources, which he incorporated in 2010 and has developed the low-cost, high-grade gold Brucejack Mine in northern BC. Dr. Quartermain has a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from the University of New Brunswick, a Master of Science degree in mineral exploration from Queen's University and was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science degree from the University of New Brunswick in May 2009.

Richard O’Brien, B.A., J.D., Director

Mr. O’Brien brings more than 30 years of operational and financial experience in the natural resources, energy and power sectors. Mr. O’Brien has served as President and CEO of Newmont Mining Corporation and President and CEO of Boart Longyear Limited. During his career, Mr. O’Brien has also served as a CFO at Newmont, prior to which his executive roles included Executive Vice President and CFO of U.S. energy services company AGL Resources, and Chief Operating Officer and CFO at PacifiCorp, a western U.S. utilities company. Mr. O’Brien holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in economics from the University of Chicago and a Juris Doctorate degree from Lewis and Clark Law School. Mr. O’Brien currently serves on the Boards of Xcel Energy Inc. and Vulcan Materials Company.

George Paspalas, Lead Director

George Paspalas is the President and Chief Executive Officer of MAG Silver Corp. Formerly he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Aurizon Mines; Chief Operating Officer, Silver Standard Resources Inc.; Executive Vice-President and Senior Vice President Projects - Technical Development, Placer Dome Inc.; and President and Chief Executive Officer of Placer Dome Africa. During his career, Mr. Paspalas has been responsible for constructing and operating complex open pit and underground mines in South Africa, Tanzania, Australia, South America and Canada. Mr. Paspalas earned a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) degree with Honours from the University of New South Wales in 1984.

Robin Bienenstock, Director

Ms. Bienenstock is a founder and investment partner of RBMP Capital LLP, founded in London, United Kingdom in 2017, and was a partner at Marlin Sams Fund LP from 2014 until 2016. She was a senior research analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co., LLC, Research Division from 2007 until 2014. Ms. Bienenstock has served as a non-executive director, and a member of the Audit Committee of Sunrise Communications Group AG, a Swiss telecommunications provider, since 2016. She has previously served as a member of the Supervisory Board, and a member of the Audit Committee, of Tele Columbus AG, a German cable provider, and as a director of Oi S.A., the largest telecommunications company in Brazil and South America. During her directorship at Oi S.A., Ms. Bienenstock chaired the committee responsible for internal audit, risks and contingencies. Ms. Bienenstock obtained a Master of Arts degree in International Economics and Management from SDA Bocconi in Milan in 1992 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford in 1991.

Peter Birkey, CFA, Director

Peter Birkey is an Investment Executive who has over twenty years of experience investing in the financial markets and advising both public and private companies. Mr. Birkey was an Executive Vice President for Liberty Mutual Asset Management responsible for all Strategy, Public Markets, Risk Management, Real Estate and Special Situations. Prior to this, he was a Senior Vice President for AmerUs Capital Management (now Aviva USA) and a Portfolio Manager for AEGON USA. Mr. Birkey earned a MBA in Finance and Marketing with the highest honors from the University of Chicago. He is also a Charted Financial Analyst and holds a Bachelors degree in Economics and Business Administration from Coe College.

Jeane Hull, B.Sc., MBA, Director

Ms. Hull has over 35 years of operational leadership and engineering experience, most notably holding the positions of Chief Operating Officer for Rio Tinto plc at the Kennecott Utah Copper Mine and Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer of Peabody Energy Corporation. Ms. Hull has also held numerous management engineering and operations positions with Rio Tinto and affiliates. Prior to joining Rio Tinto she held positions with Mobil Mining and Minerals, and has additional engineering, environmental and regulatory affairs experience in the public and private sector. Currently Ms. Hull serves on the Boards of Epiroc AB and Interfor Corporation.

A Registered Professional Engineer, Ms. Hull holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and a Master of Business Administration degree from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. She is a member of the University of Wyoming School Of Energy Resources Council. She serves on the University Advisory Board for South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, and formerly served on the Industry Advisory Board for Missouri University of Science and Technology Mining Department and the Washington University Olin Business School Women’s Leadership Forum Steering Committee.

Joseph J. Ovsenek, P.Eng., LLB, President, Chief Executive Officer and Director

Mr. Ovsenek has over 20 years of international management and legal experience in the precious metals industry. He has been responsible for building teams and leading the growth of public resource companies from early exploration stage to production. Since joining Pretium in January 2011, he has been responsible for a broad scope of the company’s strategic corporate functions including financing and project permitting. Prior to joining Pretivm, he served for 15 years in senior management roles for Silver Standard Resources Inc., where he was responsible for financings, the acquisition and sale of several assets, and was instrumental in developing corporate strategy. Mr. Ovsenek has served as in-house and external legal counsel in corporate and securities law practice, has served as a director on the boards of a number of publicly-traded exploration companies in addition to providing corporate governance counsel. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Toronto. Mr. Ovsenek is a registered member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.

David Smith, CPA, ICD.D, Director

David Smith is a Corporate Director who has had a career on both the finance and the supply sides of business within the mining sector, with extensive international exposure. He brings more than 30 years of financial and executive leadership experience to the Board. Mr. Smith served as the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Finning International Inc. from 2009 to 2014. Prior to joining Finning, Mr. Smith served as Chief Financial Officer and a Vice President of Ballard Power Systems, Inc. from 2002 to 2009. Previously, he spent 16 years with Placer Dome Inc. in various senior positions and 4 years with PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Smith currently is a director of Nevsun Resources Ltd. and Paramount Gold Nevada Corporation and is a member of the Board of Governors of Collingwood School. Mr. Smith is a Certified Public Accountant, and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University, Sacramento. He has also completed the Institute of Corporate Directors course, Directors Education Program (ICD.D).

Faheem Tejani, Director

Mr. Tejani is currently the President of the Mortgage Company of Canada, a privately-owned investment company that primarily invests in single family residential mortgages in the Greater Toronto Area, currently with assets under management of ~$250 million. Prior to joining Mortgage Company of Canada, Mr. Tejani spent 17 years at BMO Capital Markets, most recently as Managing Director, Equity Capital Markets. During his time at BMO Capital Markets he primarily focused on the Metals and Mining industry.
